The Melbourne Food & Wine Festival – The Immersery

This year at the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival, they have set up a 2 storey structure on Southbank dubbed “The Immersery”. The website describes as Festival Kitchen, Bar and Rain Garden and it’s situated on the Yarra River –  perfect when the weather’s as good as it was that Friday. Each night they have a different bar pumping out drinks and features samples from different restaurants.

We shared the Festival Tasting Plate and the Dumpling set – they’re small, but it’s a nice little sample of different restaurants (Bomba, Borrowed Space, Tani Eat & Drink and Huxtable). I thought the Dumpling set was more interesting – wallaby soup dumplings anyone?

After checking out the Immersery, we went for drinks at duNord – a cosy Scandinavian bar on Little Bourke for some beer and cider. Good place if you want to chat, I’ll have to go back to try the Swedish meatballs and mash 🙂
